England Captain Rio Ferdinand Launches Shoe Range at Pure London!

Rio Ferdinand channels some positive energy into his new fancy footwear range Five by Rio Ferdinand.

Cleverly named after his football shirt number, we caught a glimpse of him at the launch of the collection!

The Autumn/Winter collection incorporates twenty-four styles of footwear from classic to casual, boots and shoes, and even bags and wallets.

The A/W 10 collection consists of 24 styles from classic to casual, boots and shoes, including bags and wallets. Rio has even got a new take on the en vogue workman boot for this a/w.

Prices are reasonable, ranging from £60 to £160, they aren't just affordable to Premiership footballers, so fans can enjoy having a piece of Rio at their feet.

The Legendary Zandra Rhodes at Pure London!

Zandra Rhodes made a guest appearance at Pure London!

The legendary Zandra was at Pure launching her SS11 shoe and handbag collection!

Zandra Rhodes and Vogue.com were live on stage, presenting key pieces from Zandra’s archive showing her signature prints, textiles, colours and fabrics and how they have influenced her current handbag and footwear collections.

We then joined Zandra in the VIP buyers lounge for afternoon tea and a question and answer session - The colourful creative told us the collection contains a mix of hues. She said “I’ve always loved bright colours; I love lavenders, turquoises and as far as I’m concerned pink is always in!” We couldn’t agree more! There are also plenty of practical black bags in the line which, as she says, “always looks chic”.

Graduate Fashion Week Winners at Pure London

The winners of Graduate Fashion Week featured their winning collections on the Young fashion catwalk at Pure London:

Naomi News marvellous monochrome collection – we fell for this fantastically structure futuristic white dress with power shoulders and heavy studding/embellishment finished with some real human hair! (above pic)

Nathalie Tunna showed her pretty pastel collection with fabulous patent accessories. Our fave was the patent rucksack!

Rebecca Thomson’s collection saw chic classic work wear styles we should all be donning to the office! We loved her beautiful blouse with the oversized bow neckline.

Rhea Fields saw fabulous structures and tailoring – these pieces would be sure create office envy!

Sara Wadsworth who showcased wonderful sheer printed pieces with a fabulous print of Big Ben! (Seen in picture below)

Pure London – the UK’s largest womenswear trade show has drawn to a close for another season. We had a great event with brands showcasing their wonderful SS11 collections! Pure smashed all the records for a summer show this season! The independent ABC audit showed visitor numbers grew by 24% - International numbers increased by 27% and an increasing number of buyers spent more than one day at the show.

The exhibition was jam-packed to the brim! We had amazing catwalk shows on the Womenswear stage and the Young Fashion stage with a host of fantastic brands featuring their forthcoming SS11 collections including Max C, Iron Fist, Yumi, Rare along with Very, Full Circle and Love Phool. Khabi Mirza hosted all the fashion seminars live on the young fashion stage with exclusive guest speakers including GMTV’s Mark Hayes and Cosmopolitans Fashion Director Shelly Vella (seen below) – who spoke about the top trends on short orders for a/w 10.

Helen Mirren Shines in Ian Stuart at BAFTA Awards

Last night's prestigious BAFTA Awards saw Dame Helen Mirren step out onto the red carpet in style wearing a stunning Ian Stuart creation. Black and ivory spot tulle and beaded lace adorned the actress' stunning figure.

Presenting the long-standing comic duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders with their BAFTA Fellowship, hailing them as 'Feminine...Feminists...Formidable...Phenomenal and any other 'F' you can think of'. We certainly think you look F-Fabulous Helen!

PURE FUN – Pure London’s after show party!

After a successful first day at Pure London (8-10 Feb), buyers and exhibitors
headed down to the Divo nightclub in London’s St James, for the after show party. Organised by Good Results, the party was a huge success with Pure London cocktails handed out on arrival, to get everyone into the party spirit. Guests nibbled on Russian inspired canapés and sipped on wine whilst listening to the sounds of DJ Piers Robinson until the early hours. The dancing moves came from Pure London’s Vicky Ogden who wowed the crowds and got everyone onto the dance floor.

The team from the Italian Footwear Manufacturers Association (ANCI) joined in the fun while Pure London’s Managing Director Steve Newbold and owner of fashion agency APT collections, Nigel Hughes shared a drink together. Other guest included leading designers Ian Stuart and Kate Fearnley, the team from Concept K, Emreco, Passport, Anoushka G and Arrey Kono as well as the Pure London team – and the us of course!

We can’t wait to organise August’s after show party!

February’s Pure London was a big success with visitor numbers up by 5.85%, which is a fantastic achievement in the current economic climate. The show even attracted a few celebrities including A-lister Helena Bonham Carter who popped in to shop wholesale at one of her favorite brands. We also had a visit from Dancing On Ice star/Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon and popstar Duncan James, who both like to keep ahead of the style stakes!
