Bread & Butter Berlin

Good Results travelled to Berlin last week to visit international trade show Bread & Butter. Taking place in the impressive Templehoff airport, hundreds of brands came together to showcase their Spring Summer 12 collections. Running parallel to Berlin Fashion Week, the three-day event is a huge playground for buyers. Every major brand out did themselves with over the top complete concept stalls and even mini-shops. Live music, free food and drink, catwalk shows...all while people are placing orders for their stores.

We spent two days browsing the brands on show including Pure London exhibitors Custo Barcelona, Pepe Jeans, Sugar Hill Boutique, Selected Femme, Vila and many more.

Highlights? Eleven Paris! Their new collection lived up to expectations with uber cool men’s and women’s designs. The ‘Berlin-Calling’ SS12 collection is inspired by the Berliners’ lifestyle. Carrot shorts and loose t-shirts were prominent in the men’s collection while a mix of rebellious and military-punk styles were seen in the womens collection. Beautiful leather jackets, skull cut out thin knit vests, Aztec print hotpants and washed out denim playsuits – we can’t wait to start working with the new collection!

Brian Rennie launches his first collection with Basler at Berlin Fashion Week

“My vision for Basler is: Look like designer, feel like designer, act like designer, keep existing price points. An authentic, sophisticated and modern collection with feminine handwriting.”

Brian Rennie, unveiled his debut collection for Basler at Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week on Thursday evening. Previous head of design at Escada, Rennie accepted the position of Creative Director for Basler earlier this year, and last week presented his Spring Summer 2012 collection for the brand. Wowing audiences, Rennie promised a supremely glamorous and premium collection and he did not fail to deliver!

Offering a firework of vibrant colours, innovative materials, prints and new cuts. Ultra feminine designs featuring appliquéd flowers, glistening beading and ruffles of chiffon. The collection was a combination of fun, flirty youthful designs to grown-up sophisticated pieces – gold sequins beneath chocolate blazers, floral printed silk blouses, tailored twin sets to full on glamorous evening gowns. The collection has a strong sense of direction, but the versatility to work for anyone – there’s something in the collection for every woman.

Brian Rennie has designed gowns for Hollywood A-listers including Halle Berry, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton, Jerry Hall and Catherine Zeta Jones in the past. To show their support for Rennie Oscar winning actress, Mira Sorvino attended wearing Basler SS12 as well as Opera singer Anna Netrebko and partner Erwin Schott.
